Samsung updates Galaxy S26 with July 2026 security patch

Samsung updates Galaxy S26 with July 2026 security patch

Samsung usually rolls out new security patches to its smartphones first, followed by its tablets and smartwatches. This month, however, the brand took a different approach by releasing the July 2026 security patch to Galaxy Watches before any other devices. Now, the company has finally started rolling out the July 2026 security patch to its smartphones, with the Galaxy S26 series becoming the first to receive the update.

At the moment, Samsung is offering the update in its home country, South Korea. The update is 553.54MB in size and carries version S94xNKSS4AZG3 (via Tarun Vats). The latest security patch fixes 57 security issues present in the previous firmware, making the three phones in the lineup more secure than before. We expect the tech giant to release the update in other regions gradually over the next few days.

To check if the July 2026 security update is available for your Galaxy S26, head to Settings > Software update > Download and install. As for major software updates, Samsung released the One UI 9.0 beta for the Galaxy S26 series in May, giving users an early look at its latest Android skin.

Samsung is expected to unveil the stable version of One UI 9.0 with the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold 8, and Galaxy Z Flip 8 later this month. The company should then begin rolling out the update to eligible older devices shortly after, with the Galaxy S26 series likely to be among the first in line.
